Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to Trinity County Criminal History. Browsing content or using a search function signals agreement. Anyone who does not accept these terms must stop using the service.

NO FCRA USE. This privately run resource has no government affiliation. Neither it nor its advertising partners provides a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Its purpose is to identify Trinity County and California record sources. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This private reference site is independent of every public office. It cannot retrieve an official record, conduct an official check, or file a document.

It identifies the Trinity County Sheriff's Records Lobby, Trinity Superior Court, California Department of Justice, and California Megan's Law Website as distinct record sources and may link to outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

You agree that you will not:

  • Break any federal, state, or local law while using this site
  • Use information you find here to stalk, harass, or threaten anyone
  • Base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on content from this site
  • Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
  • Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
  • Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

No one may use site or linked information to stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or discriminate. California Penal Code section 290.46 places strict limits on misuse of California Megan's Law information. That registry exists for public safety awareness, not vigilantism or unlawful adverse treatment.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. We do not generate background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports of any kind. Neither we nor our advertising partners provide services built for screening job applicants, reviewing rental applications, calculating insurance rates, or judging creditworthiness. You agree not to use data from this site or any linked tool to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

A legally regulated check must come from an authorized official process or an FCRA-compliant provider. California DOJ's general Record Review is fingerprint based and subject only; Penal Code section 11105 limits dissemination of state summary criminal history.

5. No Legal Advice

Content is not legal advice. Only a licensed California attorney can assess how a charge, conviction, warrant, dismissal, or expungement rule applies to a particular case.

6. No Warranties

Everything on this site is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Charges can be filed, dismissed, sealed, amended, or subject to later relief. Gaps are unavoidable, and no content here is an official statement from Trinity Superior Court, the Sheriff, California DOJ, or another agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links can lead to the Trinity County Sheriff, Trinity Superior Court, California agencies, legal-aid groups, and commercial providers. We do not control their content, privacy practices, prices, or availability. Their own terms apply.

8. Intellectual Property

Trinity County Criminal History or its content partners own the text, graphics, logos, and code. Written permission is required to copy, alter, distribute, or build upon that material.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest lawful extent, we disclaim liability for damage arising from site use, including reliance on information here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, demands, and proceedings caused by your use or violation of these terms, including related legal costs.

11. Governing Law

California law governs these terms, including applicable California consumer-protection law. Any dispute related to site use must be brought in a court located in California. The California Public Records Act governs public-agency records and does not make this private resource a government custodian.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these conditions. A revision takes effect when posted.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may restrict or end access at any time and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, all remaining provisions continue. The affected text will be narrowed only as needed.

15. Questions
